Exhibitor numbers rise

The 12th International Exhibition for Logistics, Telematics and Transport takes place from 12 to 15 May 2009 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. transport logistic is the world´s biggest trade fair for the multi-facetted industry of moving goods by road, rail, water and air. The fair´s portfolio covers logistics and freight transport, telematics and in-company transport and material flow. This year Messe München is expecting over 1,600 exhibitors from more than 55 countries to take part in the event. Among the exhibitors are, for example, road haulage companies, forwarding agencies, railway operators, intermodal transport providers, shipping companies, airlines and airports, as well as courier, express and parcel services.

transport logistic will also be expanding its international reach this year. Over 40 percent of the exhibitors who have registered so far come from outside Germany. The trend is clear: more and more countries, regions and locations are exploiting synergies and teaming up with others to present their expertise in joint presentations, for example, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Spain. Italy is also represented with its regional logistics centres (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Piedmont, Veneto, Liguria, Emilia Romagna and the ports of Tuscany). Many German Länder, too – from Bavaria to Hesse and North-Rhine Westphalia – will be presenting their regional, intermodal logistics concepts at joint stands and thereby demonstrating the strength of Germany as a logistics location. After retail and the automotive sector, freight logistics is still one of the highest turnover industries in Germany.
